Access your phone App settings for Honeywell Home and make sure all permissions are set to “always on.” They can be altered after the connection/registration is complete. Restart your mobile device and turn off any apps that may enhance the security, including VPN’s, GPS spoofers, etc. These can be turned on again once the connection of the thermostat is complete. For the Total Connect Comfort app, follow the instructions in the product manual, or refer to page 7 of this user guide. Look for it in the top right or top left corners of the thermostat display. If the icon is present and does not display an X through it, the thermostat has been reconnected successfully.

If the batteries are too low, the thermostat won’t have a constant power supply and you might experience interruptions. Most thermostats have batteries and still take power from the HVAC system, but some models work only on batteries. If your thermostat’s display is not responding, chances are the batteries have run out.
Is Your Thermostat Not Working? Ambient Edge Can Help!
Generally, you should check the air filters once a month and change them after three months, depending on your area’s dust conditions. If not, continue to the next step and remove your existing thermostat from the wall plate. If WARM/HOT, this means your reversing valve may not be configured or wired properly.

Another reason for the thermostat not working may be a clogged air filter inside the furnace. In such a situation, when you turn on heating mode, there will be no warm air coming out of the blower. The thermostat uses battery power when the HVAC system is not running. Sometimes the thermostat faces low battery issues, or the battery is unable to charge. Low battery problems can also affect the regular operation of your thermostat. Smart thermostats use a C-wire that connects the thermostat with an HVAC system and charges the thermostat’s battery.

Once finished, replace the cover and flip the power back on. Before troubleshooting anything electrical, always start by turning off the power at the breaker. Before getting too far into this process, make sure there are no obvious signs of compromised connections. Use a screwdriver to tighten each terminal and, if you suspect corrosion, pull each wire out of the terminal and inspect it. Should a wire be corroded, use wire strippers to remove the corroded section and reveal a new section of wire before reinstalling in the terminal.
Thermostats that can be programmed to run on a schedule require the installation of a battery to preserve those settings in the event of a brief power failure. When the power is restored –even if you’re not at home—your thermostat can tell your HVAC system to resume heating or cool your home without reprogramming. Most modern thermostats require AA or AAA-sized batteries, while some use flat, disc-style watch batteries.
Your Thermostat is Filthy!
Another reason your Honeywell thermostat heat is not working could be wiring problems. To resolve this, checking the owner’s manual is the best thing to do, as this can help you confirm that the thermostat wiring connections are correct. You may start thinking this way if you’ve checked out the previously mentioned possibilities. In this situation, you need to fix the door in its position for the furnace’s normal operation.

You should avoid locations such as next to windows, doors, under direct sunlight, or any heating sources and appliances. For your air conditioning system, start by checking the safety switch, which is installed in the drain pan. These equipment are must-have as they help you control and regulate the cooling and heating of your home to make you more comfortable in your own house. Your thermometer is the boss of your HVAC system, and because of the vital job it does, you’ll want to ensure that it’s working properly. This is the time when you need to change the air filters.
To fix this, turn off the power supply and unmount the thermostat. Use a level to ensure it's perfectly level when remounting. Ideally, this is what every household desires – turn it on and never, ever touch it again.

If you have noticed a discolouration of the wire or a burned smell, call the professionals to resolve the problem with your thermostat wiring. Are there any hints pointing to boiler issues, like no supply of hot water and heating? Or maybe your radiators are cold only at the bottom and making weird gurgling sounds when you turn them on? Don’t rush to conclusions, and thoroughly examine your heating system. And if you are hesitating to do it on your own, you can always consult with specialists. The safety switch works to detect problems like excess moisture or high temperatures within your system and prompts it to turn off before damages occur.
Go to your thermostat and switch from Heating to Cooling and then feel the temperature of the air blowing from the vent. For all systems, the fan is controlled by the G terminal. Check that you have a wire connected to the G terminal. If you're looking for a product that isn't a thermostat, try checking here.

Have you already tried all possible options but are still having trouble with getting your Honeywell thermostat up and running? If none of this works, then it might be time to call an HVAC technician to address the situation. Also, verify if the temperature is set lower or higher than the ambient temperature, depending on summer or winter respectively.
If it the breaker has tripped, simply flip the switch back on and check if this restores the thermostat screen. If your Honeywell thermostat display light is not working even after this, it could be that the circuit breaker has tripped. The display screen should be activated once you put it back on.
The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in your home is controlled by your thermostat. If your thermostat isn’t working, your furnace, whole-house fan, and AC unit are probably not functioning correctly, either. If you feel Cool air instead of heat, you likely have misconfigured your system type or reversing valve. Using your manual, enter the thermostat configuration and change the reversing valve setting and re-attempt to call for heat / return to step 1.
